"Shame, that," Steven said. Then he sucked on Llewellyn's lower lip.

Watts let out a happy little moan at the sensation. And then: "I should," another kiss. "Finish- the shortcakes." Yet another kiss. "Or put them away."

Please note how instead of doing either of those things he was continuing to kiss Steven.

"Will anything go bad?" Steven asked. He was still kissing, but he did worry about food. Particularly when Llewellyn had put so much effort in.

"Strawberries should be refrigerated," Watts pointed out. The whipped topping was still in the refrigerator, so not an issue. "And- don't want Raphael getting in to the biscuits."

"Right, right," Steven said. Concern for their cat son was important. "I do want to taste your hard work as well."

"Shall we assemble one each, then?" Watts asked. "Leave the rest for later."

"Excellent compromise," Steven said. He gave Llewellyn a kiss, though a quick one this time. "You're brilliant."

"Thank you," Watts replied. And then added: "You flirt."

"Who wouldn't flirt with a handsome man who makes strawberry shortcakes for you?" Steven replied.

"... You'd best not be flirting with just any man who makes you baked goods, Steven Grant," Watts said, trying to sound serious while clearly biting back a smile.

"Not just any man," Steven said, grinning up at him. "The best man."

"The best, you say?" Watts grinned back at him, leading them in a quick little dance step as he did so.

"The very best," Steven replied. He laughed with delight as they danced.

And what else could Watts do in that moment but lean down to kiss that smile?

"More dancing after we eat?" Steven asked.

Yes, they'd already technically made plans for after they sampled the shortcake but surely they could add in a dance?

They had the rest of the afternoon and the evening ahead of them, a dance could totally be worked in to the agenda.

"I'd love to," Watts replied.

"I love this," Steven said, resting his head on Llewellyn's shoulder. "Being romantic with you at random moments of the day."

"On a whim," Watts agreed. "Because I love you, and I love seeing you smile. Being the reason for your smile."

"You are excellent at making me smile," Steven said, doing just that against Llewellyn's shoulder. "Rather talented at it I'd say."

"I do my best to stay in practice," Watts said. "Got to keep my skills sharp if I expect to be doing so for the rest of my life, now don't I?"

Well now Steven was melted against him. "You say such wonderful things."

"Because I've a wonderful man to say them to," Watts replied.

"Now who's flirting?" Steven asked, lifting his head so Llewellyn could see him grin.

"Oh, me," Watts said, unrepentant. "Is it working?"

Steven giggled. "Very much so. You're rather good at it."
